Each of Wenkel�s lapel pins displayed the Lowe�s logo, cut to shape, with the addition of an area on the design that could be silk screened with the applicable Lowe�s store number. In all, Wenkel required about 900 lapel pins for his recognition program. Wenkel�s design was finalized in about two days, at which point his order began the manufacturing process. Approximately ten days later, Wenkel received his order delivery and began distribution through area store managers.

The recognition program received widespread praise form Lowe�s employees. Wenkel found that the recognition lapel pins brought unity and a sense of accomplishment among the ranks. When you walk into some Lowe�s stores today, you will see employees proudly displaying their award pins.
